Implant tooth replacement is, in my opinion the miracle of modern dentistry. An implant is nothing more than an artificial root which when placed in the jaw bone, preserves that bone and can support single teeth, fixed bridges or even a denture. It is the closest possible thing to growing back a new tooth! A few years ago I broke a tooth and had an implant placed. It looks and feels so natural that I forget it is there. Most of my patients are surprised how comfortable the process is. The majority of patients only take over the counter ibuprofen or Tylenol for the first couple of days.
